Lyrics
Oh, deep in the forest of old,
There lives a Huntress I'm told,
For I can faintly hear her singing,
Songs, sung from the beaks of the birds,
Every colour in her gentle words,
Beckons me to her light,
The trail leads me down to the edge of the woods,
And so I go seeking
From, atop of the tallest tree,
For as far as the eyes can see,
There she lays upon the fell
With her bow, her bow and her arrow,
She draws sharp and narrow,
And shoots it close within my stride
It was then that I knew that the stories were true,
And how I heard her calling
As the arrow did fly through the night,
The huntress then lay by my side,
And whispered softly in my ear
Love will find thee so free my boy,
So for now I just find my joy,
Just hear me calling when I sing’
The call, the call of the country comes,
So she flies with her feather and drums,
For my the lakes her heart does lay
And I know, I know soon again she’ll be gone,
So for now I must sing this song,
And I’ll be listening for her calling
The strangest of dreams occur in my sleep,
As I wake in the morning
Breathe, breathe in the open air,
And know that I’ll find her there,
In this land and in the sky,
In time, all that will be will be,
And I’ll be waiting with my strings and steed,
In other lives I’m sure to live
So endlessly her light leads me on,
In the song of the siren
